Pedestrian simulation (CSiS)
The course is part of the Computer Simulation in Science (CSiS) programme and is taught in English. Course materials can be found on moodle; the password will be given during the lecture.
The lecture introduces the field of pedestrian dynamics. Different mathematical models and basic concepts for the simulation of pedestrians (movement, routing, interactions) are discussed. Moreover, insights based on experiments and various empirical methods are presented. The students gain theoretical background as well as practical experience by completing the accompanying simulation projects.
